I used to be awesome at Valentine's Day Cards. This year, I apologize if you haven't gotten your Christmas Card yet.
Barely recognized the holiday this year. Until sometime this afternoon when I turned on The Current's The Greatest Love Song playing. After dancing around cleaning my apartment, I sat on the couch* and gave myself a pedicure.

There are some advantages to being a pack rat. Such as having my entire nail polish collection from....ever. Last summer I grew up and stuck with a pink that my cousins could wear on the beach. (It glitters though, so maybe not too grown up.) I like it, but I'm also excited for winter. I wear the blacks, and blues, and whites, and purples, and greens without worrying about other people's impressions.
One foot black. One foot pink. Opposite color hearts on the big toes. (Hearts facing me, because I'm the one looking at them.)

Last week I checked out Alone With an Eggplant in the Kitchen. I'm enjoying the stories of cooking for yourself. People tend to fall into two extremes: spaghetti-os, over the sink or fancy cooking, I learned how to set a table when I lived alone.
I curl up on the couch to eat my breakfast. Homemade yogurt and apple butter over hot biscuits. Oatmeal. Cooked with berries and broiled with cinnamon sugar. Or my comfort food, half a grapefruit and mint tea.

I like living by myself this year, but I miss being able to show off my winter toenails.
*Not sure why the couch. Bad place for spilling nail polish. I didn't but still, should not tempt the mess. Especially not after cleaning.
